Ghost Human Bones

Pocket keys,
leave ride behind.
Pull in—magnet close,
fingers entwine…

Spilled love
soft kisses
soaked sidewalk,
shadowed with hugs.

Light flashes: walk
we run…
Dancing under amber lights,
vacant street of freedom.

Stroll the pier,
end at shore.
Reminisce here,
year after year.

   As a literal thinker, poetry has always come hard for me but this piece is masterful and breathtaking in its simplicity (meant sincerely as a compliment, again, I’m out of my depth here). Well done, kudos!
