Moldable metal magic shell. We formed a humanoid female unit with synthetic soul. Deposited in an alien world to exist, observe, experience, take note among lookalikes the slippery kind. Masters of green cotton and linen shadow spiders spinning their algorithm a broken bureau of minds like hollow drawers ancient souls in office, calling the score. Inside, she follows Earth’s greatest play act on and on and on. Pull back the curtain. See? A fine-tuned ruse to divide for eternity. The human loop is masterfully draining. When her unit malfunctions blissful withdrawal is certain.

As a teen, I used to read OMNI magazine, which published sci-fi and speculative fiction. This poem reminds me so much of some of the stories I read back then. It’s brilliant, and leaves me wanting more. (I was such a sci-fi nerd back then that I’d bring my OMNI mags to school every day to read during class; who needs to take notes or listen to lectures when you can read about metallic fembots and spaceships, right? 😀 ) Nicely done, Kirsten. 🙂
