Quiet desire simmers within where gloom dwells Endure. Or escape. At my wrist, darkness clutches reining me back in broken promises, word for word, inch by inch Hope in distant sunshine sets devoured by darkened dread no… let go! I choose. I’m moving — onward upward ahead!

The clouds end their tears
Dullness paints the sky
Frosty breezes trigger linkage
beneath warm fleece blankets
In our shared hammock, skin to skin swinging to
wind chime melodies
Such a soothing sound coaxes the sun’s return
penetrating earth with fresh light
Hypnotized by
nature’s glowing bliss,
we close our eyes

Black rain slithers from bloated clouds
as the politician’s speech ends
down millions of ears
promises drip and echo
igniting emotions, and cheersEyes held hostage
words morph into
tight ropes
silver-tongue bondageWorldwide adulation
“They fell for it again.”
I observe their world from above
beside my laughing Master“What a disaster,” she says.
“Ah, it’s fun to twist
this design.”She forces her claw further
down their sky“Let’s see what happens this time.”
