There’s no escaping me.
I’ve loved you forever,
stolen after a unique encounter.
She’s the one,
you board ship with,
yet, I bear your luggage.
Hope for blissful destiny shifts.
In dead of night, envy simmers.
Flowing tears of unbelievable heights.
No time for life vests,
as furious waves, rock and twist.
No time for prayer.
Among drifting debris,
I claim you. Lone survivor.
Shattered spell.
Her soul rests in watery hell.
I give you air.
I give you life.
A creation,
of you and me.
Anchored forever,
this spell is cast.
There’s no escaping me.

I love the intensity and immediacy of your writing, and this is another good example. That last line…! Brilliant stuff, Kirsten, as always! 🙂

Thank you for your kind words and reading! 🙂 I think that photo captured the haunting mood I was going for.

and the “haunting mood” takes the shape of an anchor with the light around it, as if it is anchored in light, thus ” There is no escaping me”…..

I like that, it’s deep! (No pun intended) Excellent observation.
